MYH Prison Campaign 2011

We now have 4,400 prisoners (and rising!) confirmed to receive Eid gifts! However, we really need your support to make sure this happens.



Our aims for this year’s prison campaign:

· To raise awareness of our free helpline number amongst Muslim prisoners.

· To raise awareness within the Muslim community about the numbers of Muslim prisoners, mobilising your support for this largely ignored group.

· To extend our helpline opening hours to provide a dedicated service for Muslim prisoners.

· To respond to requests from prisoners for befriending visits and Islamic items.

· Last but not least, to reach out to 5,000 prisoners with Eid gifts, making this our biggest Prison Campaign to date!



Raise money

Please help us reach our fundraising goal of £10,000 so we can touch 5,000 hearts this Eid. For example, you could organise a bake sale or a jumble sale to raise money. We also need people to help with collections and sponsorships. Please get in touch by email at prison.campaign@myh.org.uk to get involved!

Write a message of support

Put a smile on your brother or sister’s face and reduce their loneliness and isolation. Write a short paragraph of around 100 words (A5 or smaller), expressing your support and encouragement, reminding the Muslims in prison that the community remembers them. Please post your messages to Muslim Youth Helpline, Freepost RLZSXJGEJLBH, London, NW3 6NE or email them to prison.campaign@myh.org.uk by 31st July.
