Martina Cole joins judging panel for Prison Reform Trust 2011 Writing Competition

The best-selling author Martina Cole has agreed to join the panel of judges for the 2011 Prison Reform Trust Writing Competition.

Following its successful re-launch two years ago the competition has given prisoners and their families and friends the opportunity to explore their talent.
The scheme has attracted a very high standard of new writing and also provided a valuable creative outlet for those within and affected by the criminal justice system.

The competition is open to all prisoners, prisoners’ families and friends, and former prisoners. Entries can be submitted for the comment prize, the lyric / rap prize and the short story prize. The closing date is 1 August 2011 and winners in each category will receive a 1st prize of £200, a 2nd prize of £100 or a 3rd prize of £75.
A leaflet with information on how to enter is available from your prison library or education department. Details are also available on the Prison Reform Trust website www.prisonreformtrust.org.uk
